mango lhassa, a firey curry
lamb, lentils
(sweet coffee) and naan
i've cut a nectarine

sticky fingers in my mouth
an orange flavor, almost
like a peach
(sharp, almost cloying,
damp, thunderstorm electric)
or canteloupe

and a whiff of cloves,
cinnamon, allspice
(is that dill as well...)
down-comforter-scents

in with a pistachio,
cool rosewater sip, sip,
and the nectarine begins
(covering my briney sweat)
to drip down my throat
in waves like summer air full
with the bright green smell of leaves
